Three Fannin County football teams qualified for postseason competition.

District-champion Fannindel advanced to play Lueders-Avoca on Friday, Nov. 13, at Saint Jo at 7 p.m. in the first round of the Class 1A Division II six-man football playoffs.

The No. 9-ranked Falcons qualified for the postseason as the outright undefeated champion of 10-1A-II at 3-0 -- completing a 9-0 regular season.

It marked their first undefeated regular season since going 10-0 in 2013 en route to a regional round advance and an 11-1 overall effort.

The district title equated Fannindel's second in the last three seasons to start its fourth-straight postseason.

The Falcons outscored their district competition 169-32 this fall with all three contests called final early: vs. Forestburg, 53-6, halftime, Oct. 23; vs. Gold-Burg, 45-0, third quarter, Oct. 30; at Trinidad, 71-26, fourth quarter, Nov. 6.

In six-man football, when one team takes a lead of 45 points or more at halftime or afterward, said team is immediately ruled the winner.
