About Ms. Herron

Education and Professional Background:

Ms. Herron graduated high school from North Lamar ISD in 1998. She attended Texas A&M University in Commerce, and earned her Master of Arts degree in Psychology. Ms. Herron is a former Police Officer with the Grand Prarie Police Department where she enjoyed several years protecting her community through patrol and undercover assignments. She has also worked as a Youth Counselor for (NETCADA), and a Vocational Counselor with the Texas Workforce Commission before becoming a teacher.

 

FUN FACTS ABOUT YOUR TEACHER

  • Ms. Herron was the Chairman of the Board for the ‘Kids Safety Society Coalition’ in Sulphur Springs and Paris for 3 years (2006-2009). 
  • After dedicating most of her life to martial arts (since age 9), she received an invitation to compete on the U.S.A. Karate Team at the World Martial Arts Goodwill Games in 2000 and went on to teach Martial Arts for a total of 15 years. She holds a Black belt in 4 different styles of Martial Arts.
  • She was a Certified Personal Trainer, Speed and Agility specialist, and Sports Nutritionist for 8 years.
  • She is an advocate for Woman’s Safety and has held many Women’s Self-Defense Seminars around Northeast Texas (1998-2013)

 

Personal

Ms. Herron loves spending her spare time with her daughter, Lyric, as well as her fiancé and his children. She enjoys being outside, hiking, writing, and reading Non-fiction books!
